Till Hoffmann

Till Hoffmann is a German pianist whose artistic focus lies in exploring the repertoire from early Baroque to contemporary music. He is particularly interested in lesser-known works and in programming that creates connections between contrasting composers and styles. Historically informed playing influences his interpretations, always with flexibility and awareness rather than dogma.

Solo and chamber music are equally central to his work. As pianist of Trio E.T.A., he is part of an ensemble that focuses on a carefully crafted ensemble sound. It has performed at venues such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Stuttgart Liederhalle, and Wigmore Hall London, and has received the German MusicCompetition Prize, the Berenberg Culture Prize, and others. Their debut album appeared on GENUIN in 2023.

Hoffmann won first prizes at “Ton und Erklärung” (2019) and the TONALi Competition (2016), and 4th prize at the International Bach Competition Leipzig(2018). He has performed with the Mariinsky Orchestra, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, among others.

He studied with Nella and Andrej Jussow in Stuttgart, Prof. Kaya Han in Karlsruhe, Prof. Dirk Mommertz in Munich, and Prof. Bernd Goetzke in Hannover.Festival invitations include Heidelberger Frühling, Schleswig-Holstein MusikFestival, Kharkiv Music Fest, and Rheingau Music Festival.
