Nadja Reich

Nadja Reich plays with great sensitivity and shapes her interpretations intelligently, yet her playing is very expressive and personal. As a soloist, Nadja Reich has performed at venues including the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie, the Rudolfinum in Prague, and the Alti Hall Kyoto, and has played with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, among others. As a passionate chamber musician, Nadja has performed with the Doric Quartet, Alasdair Beatson, and Midori, among others, and has been invited to festivals such as the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, Ernen Musikdorf, Krzyzowa Music Festival, and Open Chamber Music Prussia Cove. Additionally, she has been engaged as a cellist and performer for several music theater productions by Christoph Marthaler at the Schauspielhaus Zürich, Theater Basel, and the Hamburg State Opera.

Nadja attended master classes with Frans Helmerson at the Kronberg Academy and with Steven Isserlis at the International Musicians' Seminar in Prussia Cove. She won first prizes at the International Suggia Competition in Porto and at the International Hindemith Competition in Berlin. At the Tonali Competition, she received the Special Prize from the Association of Friends of Chamber Music Hamburg and the Saltarello Special Prize from Sendesaal Bremen. She is also a prizewinner of the Banff Competition (Canada), the Irene-Steels-Wilsing Competition (Heidelberg), the Kiefer Hablitzel | Göhner Music Prize, and the Orpheus Competition (Switzerland).
Nadja was born in Berlin and studied with Prof. Jens Peter Maintz at the Berlin University of the Arts and with Prof. Thomas Grossenbacher at the Zurich University of the Arts. In addition she received important artistic impulses through lessons with Kristin von der Goltz, Truls Mørk, and Alfred Brendel, as well as through her collaboration with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, where she participated for three years as an academy member in tours, chamber concerts, and award-winning CD recordings.
