Biography

Elene Meipariani

Violin

Elene Meipariani is a German-Georgian violinist whose artistic focus lies in the classical repertoire, while she equally regards contemporary music as an indispensable part of today’s musical expression. She has performed as a soloist in venues including the Grand Hall of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, and with ensembles such as the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the Bremen State Youth Orchestra, and the Tbilisi Philharmonic Orchestra.

As a chamber musician, she has collaborated with artists including Lisa Batiashvili and Avi Avital, and has appeared at festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Kissinger Sommer, and the Rheingau Music Festival. A particular focus of her work lies in dialogue with living composers, among them Violeta Dinescu, Vito Žuraj, and Tomasz Skweres, whose works she actively brings to the stage.

Driven by an interest in rarely performed repertoire and new sonic possibilities, she recorded a CD in 2019 for the label cpo, featuring two quintets by Maria Bach. Since 2026, she has combined her artistic career with teaching: following a one-semester appointment substituting for Prof. Christine Busch, she now holds a teaching position at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts.

Elene Meipariani is a prizewinner of international competitions, including Third Prize and the Audience Jury Prize for the most creative music mediation at the TONALi Competition in Hamburg. She began her studies at the age of ten with Prof. Christine Busch in Stuttgart and received further formative impulses from Prof. Tanja Becker-Bender, Prof. Priya Mitchell, Prof. Nora Chastain, Prof. Leonard Fu (Juilliard String Quartet), Prof. Martin Funda, and Prof. Lukas Hagen at the Mozarteum Salzburg. She is a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes).
